Coffee. It is our life-blood. What we wake up and drink, and what we sip while cuddling and having theological discussions on date night. It seems in our very-busy wedding season that the only times we get to breeeeeathe... are date nights and Sundays. So in the interest of sharing my life with you all, here’s our most recent date night! I’d give you pictures of Sunday, but neither church nor drooling naps make for very good photo ops.Oh yes, and I love instagram. As much as I love my big ol’ camera, Instagram is the way to go with capturing a few memories.
Oh wait, back to the coffee. We couldn’t decide where to go. So we stopped by Saint’s Cafe for the most decadent FIVE-layer Carrot Cake I have ever seen.
Then we wandered over to Webster’s Bookstore for a cup of coffee to share. Where I saw this sign. Chocolate or Pumpkin Hummus? What? I am so curious.
Took a quick meander around the store so I could be distracted by children’s books. Little Men is such a classic.
The store’s exit was quite light-filled.
Dreaming dreams of far-off lands.
And adventures yet to be lived…
Chasing the fuzzy ducklings…
Through silent university halls…
You know, sometimes the best memories are the things that cost the least. Free classical music. On a mountain. As the sun sets.
It was magnificent.
Our love is magnificent, too.
Yes, melodic classical music at a Sunset Symphony. I can still hear “Stars and Stripes Forever” playing in my head. As little children danced with sparklers in their hands. It was a wonderful moment–a timeless date night. My beloved and I watching the last bits of sunlight falling slowly beyond the horizon. God has given us beauty, joy, peace and sweet rest. And I’m thankful.
