So I always think it’s super-awkward to write an about-me page in the third person, when you know and I know that I’m the one writing about myself. I’m going to try to tell you a little more about me, so you have the choice to love me or run away screaming.
I am Texas-born and raised in small-town Pennsylvania. This means that I adore Texan accents, but can’t imagine life away from the hazy Pennsylvanian mountains. I love the four seasons, with a particular adoration for summertime right after everything greens up into vibrant life and before the weather gets too blazing hot. After spending twenty-three years of life avoiding coffee, it’s one of my favorite everyday indulgences. And dark chocolate.
On August 6th, 2011, I married the best man ever. My Brandon is the most genuine, kind, loving, considerate and faithful man that I know. I consider myself a perpetual newlywed.
Brandon is going to Penn State University for petroleum & natural gas engineering. Which means that he’s smarter than me (but we already knew that) and a hard-working man. In his free time, we go on married-dates (which are infinitely better than dating-dates or engaged-dates) usually over coffee. Because coffee is my love language.
I live by my to-do list. I get a thrill every time I find a new recipe that’s awesome and healthy and tastes amazing. Locally-grown produce shouldn’t make me as happy as it does. Farmer’s markets and CSA’s are my new favorite things and if I could get more herbs to not die during the winter, my herb garden would be more successful. My cat is silly, temperamental and very lucky that his snuggles & wintertime warmth give him permanence in our home. And his name is Caspian, because I’m a Narnian fan (the books AND the movies). Speaking of books, I have many. Some would say too many, but I say “not quite enough!” I prefer the kind of books that smell a little musty and were written more than fifty years ago. Like the best Book of all. No other book gives peace like the moment I open the Bible. I believe being a Christian is my life, not just a hobby. Sometimes I write songs about Jesus, too.
I like blogging, taking pictures and sharing life with the nameless/faceless internet. I hope you enjoy getting to know me via the blog!
